At long last, I am posting the recipes for the Award-Winning Dips for our recent SerenDIPity party! Try some of them out…they are delicious!
Above: Erika and her Prize-Winning Display – Philly Sports Teams! (Her dip was “Philly Cheese Steak Dip”!) Erika’s yummy dip did not win, but her display was award worthy!

Here is her recipe for Southern Peanut Butter Dip:
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 8-oz. package of cream cheese, softened
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup milk
Whip everything together until blended and smooth. Enjoy with pretzels, graham crackers, apples, fruit or on ice cream.
We now take a brief intermission to pause and appreciate these gorgeous, slightly sassy shoes worn by Jim’s cousin and my party assistant, Jillian, to the SerenDIPity. These shoes were so fabulous! My feet know I am forty-something, but my brain thinks I am twenty-something and can wear these shoes. Hubby met me in my mid-life-crisis-have-to-have-these-shoes and gave them to me as a gift for my birthday last week.

Now, back to our regularly-scheduled post of Award-Winning Dip Recipes.

Lucille won for Most Unique Appetizer Dip
Here is her recipe for Sundried Tomato and Feta Torte
2 8-oz. packages of cream cheese (use organic or best quality you can)
1 stick butter
1 small sweet onion sauteed briefly in olive oil to soften; cool
1 clove garlic, minced very finely
Tabasco and fresh pepper to taste
1/2 cup toasted pine nuts
1 8-oz jar sundried tomatoes in oil, drained and chopped. (Lucille uses the food processor). If Lucille needs more tomatoes, she will add some rehydrated sundried tomatoes to the oil-packed ones. For the small loaf pan mold, she added another 1/2 cup.
1/2 cup pesto
1. Combine cream cheese, butter, feta, onion, garlic, Tabasco and pepper in bowl of food processor or mixer.
2. Have other ingredients ready for layering: tomatoes, pesto and pine nuts.
3. Lightly grease the mold of your choice and line it with plastic wrap. Be sure the wrap extends past the edge of the mold. Press wrap against sides of your mold. (Lucille used a small loaf pan.)
4. Layer your ingredients in whatever order you like. Lucille uses the following order: cream cheese, pesto, tomatoes, pine nuts. Repeat until your mold is filled.
5. Fold extended plastic wrap on top of last layer.
6. Weight down torte with a heavy object
7. Refrigerate up to 3 days.
8. When ready to serve, unfold the plastic on top of the mold. Turn mold over and lift off. Remove plastic and serve with your choice of crackers to chips.
Here is Lucille’s beautiful creation:

There were lots of serenDIPitous prizes given out that evening. Here are just a few of our other winners: Lisa (“Most Creative RSVP”); Cathi (oh so close in voting with her “Espresso Ricotta Mousse Dip”) and Carol (“Cutest Outfit”).

I hope you’ll try a few of these recipes!
Enjoy!

"Cutest outfit." Somehow that doesn't seem like a dip award! LOL!
But I loved the dips and might try my hand at a few.
Yum! That peanut butter dip caught my eye quickly! Thanks for sharing these, Sharon..and what a cute theme! Love this.
Hugs!
Susan
Oh yum! I will try some of these.
Looks like a fun party.
PS. I'd love to see the recipe for the Espresso Ricotta Mousse Dip too.
