Ser-en-dip-i-ty [ser-uh n-dip-i-tee]
–noun
1. an unexpected desirable discovery
2. a pleasant surprise
In high school, I received Jesus into my heart. The youth group I attended called their retreats “A Serendipity”. “Serendipity” has since been one of my favorite words and it brings warm memories to my heart.
Today’s serendipity is Kari Jobe’s worship CD. Her music label is called “Throne Room Worship” and, boy, they are not kidding! Kari is a worship leader. Transparent, passionate, reverent and sincere, Kari leads you to worship the Lord in song right to His throne of grace.
For Serendiptiy Saturday, just leave a comment and share one of the following:
–a scripture you read recently that really ministered to your heart
–an unexpected surprise you experienced that the Lord used to really bless your heart
–how the Lord used you to be a serendipitous blessing to someone else
The recipient of today’s serendipity of Kari Jobe’s worship CD will be announced in a few days!
Here in Pennsylvania, we are snuggling up and hunkering down in the midst of a big snow storm that started last evening. At this moment, we have one foot of snow! We will be spending our day sledding, shoveling, making meatballs, baking cookies, drinking hot chocolate and just plain old chil-axing! I’ll be staying in my pajamas all day (even when I go outside!) while we enjoy this wonderful wintry day! How are you spending your day today?
“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
so is My word that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:10-11
Hop on over to Kari Jobe’s site and listen to some of her beautiful worship music!

I love Kari's music and her voice. I just recently bought one of her background cds so my two nieces and I could sing a special song at church. I would love to win her worship cd.
Here is a piece of scripture that really ministered to me recently.
Exodus 4:10
"But Moses pleaded with the Lord, "O Lord, I'm not very good with words. I never have been, and I'm not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled."
Then the Lord asked Moses. "Who makes a person's mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? is it not I, the Lord? Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say."
I have felt God's urgings for some time now to ask if I could speak to the teenage girls in our church about self-esteem and how much God personally loves them and how he delights in them…but I kept thinking how could God use me with these girls. Maybe they wouldn't want to listen to somebody their grandmother's age. Maybe I wouldn't use the right words that they would relate to. Then I thought maybe this is a bad idea! God gave me these verses to remind me that He indeed wants me to trust him and just GO and DO It!
Sorry I'm so wordy Sharon, but I had to tell you the whole blessing.

Sharon, has it been that long since I've been here that I missed the new blog design? It's lovely!
Having major computer issues and currently on a "borrowed" computer. Frustrating, yet, I believe this too is from God's hand. I was spending way too much time on my computer.
"Serendipity" is also one of my favourite words! There's actually a car that "lives" nearby with that as it's liscence plate – a little different spelling to make it fit, but that's the message.
I will share a scripture from my time with the Lord this morning. It was the verse from the Psalms in the NASB. It really gripped my attention. Instead of "Be still and know that I am God" as the NIV writes, this said, "Cease striving and know that I am God." For some reason that was extra powerful to me today. Sometimes I need to hear the emphasis placed a little differently so the impact of what the Lord is requiring hits me in a needed way. "Cease striving". Yes, even a reprimand is a "desirable discovery" when it's purpose is to draw me closer to the Lord.
Enjoy your snow day!
Hugs,
Joy
