Simple Pleasures Saturday

October 10, 2009 | 5 Comments

“The LORD protects the simplehearted;
when I was in great need, He saved me.
Be at rest once more, O my soul,
for the LORD has been good to you. “
Psalm 116:6-7

Blessed By The Simple Pleasures

Quiet early morning devotion time without having to end at a certain time to take a shower and get ready for the day Raspberry preserves on whole grain toast Cherubs sleeping in and enjoying a quiet morning Lemon Chiffon candle burning in the foyer Folding laundry while listening to the Worship Channel on TV Jim having a “manly” breakfast at IHOP with a good buddy Braiding Gabrielle’s hair and kissing her “soft spot” Ruffling Joshua’s hair and giving him a squeeze Listening to the cherubs play nicely together (Wow!) Gorgeous autumnal colors with the signature of our Designer on the trees outside our windows A second cup of coffee Color for my half-inch salt and pepper hair roots this afternoon Running a few errands at a relaxed pace
Thanking the Lord for all these things

What simple plesure are warming your heart today?

I love your Simple Pleasures Saturday idea! Below are a couple of mine.

This morning, as a surprise, my husband made a delicious breakfast for me..

Another simple pleasure was waking up with this promise from God on my mind:

"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty."
    Psalm 91:1

I love being in His shadow,
    Lee Ann

    I too love this idea!

There are so many simple pleasures – the sound of laughter that fills our home!

The sounds of children reading the bible to each other.

The sounds of them worshiping their King!

The sounds of joyful feet dancing for each other!

    The smell of Saturday Pancakes!

The warm breeze across my face as I lay on a large blanket underneath the SON!

    Love you,
    Jill

This was a beautiful post! Since we went to the apple orchard today, my simple pleasures were:

the taste of a fresh made doughnut

    the smells of the orchard

My kids running and playing and picking

    the fall foliage

    Wonderful blog friends like you

Love these!! I'm with you on the hair color one–next week!!

My simple pleasures were on a golf course turned into a cross country course at Furman University! I completed a difficult 5k, and the pleasure afterwards was simply lovely–no longer gasping for breath in our humid weather! God answered my prayer, and I did finish!

Seeing leaves starting to turn into beautiful colors.

Watching my children run the race and seeing their expresssions as they crossed the finish line.

Finally making that yummy apple cake that I shared on my blog a week or so ago! I'm heading to the kitchen now for a slice and a big 'ol scoop of ice cream! Want to join me?

    Love ya,
    susan

Love your list, sounds like a great Saturday.

I love it, because I can get my house cleaned the way I want it to be. Saturdays are wonderful.
