Simple Pleasures Saturday – 10/17/09

October 17, 2009 | 4 Comments

“The LORD protects the simplehearted;
when I was in great need, He saved me.
Be at rest once more, O my soul,
for the LORD has been good to you. “
Psalm 116:6-7
Blessed By The Simple Pleasures
Sleeping in on a rainy day Listening to His rain dance on our roof top Hearing the cherubs whisper excitedly together as they make a surprise together for Daddy and Mommy in one of their bedrooms Receiving the wonderful heart-made surprise from our cherubs Kissing their “soft spots” and squeezing them tightly A hot cup of coffee Warm apple cider with breakfast A weekend of wide-open hours because sports activities are cancelled due to rain The afterglow of sister-friends gathering in our home last evening to grow in the Lord Assisting a dear friend this evening as she ministers God’s Word to other women through her culinary gifts http://www.psalm348cooking.com/ Planning ahead for Sunday dinner tomorrow (home-made chicken pot pie) and a Sunday afternoon relaxing with the family and watching our home-town team play football Spending time with Him in His Word and prayer…His sweet presence and faithfulness to give us our Portion…

    Spending time in Him, helping a friend celebrate her birthday, go flea marketing with the daughter while the men hunt, getting ready for Sunday School tomorrow…

    Love your list.

    Being able to sit and walk without pain after throwing my back out Tuesday; travelling to every possible store around here and spending six hours looking for a new bedspread for my mom, but having a mom for whom to still buy surprises; writing out music history notes for a student who's struggling, but understanding because I've been there, done that; teaching 25 little 3 year olds this morning and not watching the clock; and knowing that God's perspective can help bring pleasure to any and all activities. (Thanks for encouraging me to find the good Sharon.)

    Blessings,
    Joy

    What a blessing you are Sharon. I am overwhelmed by your out pouring of the Holy Spirit to so many. How you do it all is so amazing to me!! Thank you so much for the beautiful card you sent me. You and Tammy, have touched my heart more than you will ever know. Just when I thought I could not go on, your card came and was a touch from the Lord. You have no idea how much it meant to me at one of the lowest times of my life to receive a beautiful touching card from a sister who cares and is in prayer for me and my boys. I know how busy and hectic your life is and for you to take the time to send a card to me was a touch of love from the Lord. I thought "He really does care and hears my prayers" and it was your card that did that for me. Thank you my precious sister! May you and your family be so blessed by your faithfulness. As you are His Hands on this earth bringing His Joy to others blessing them. I could never thank you enough!!!

    In Jesus Everlasting Love,
