I started an end-of-summer tradition with our cherubs called “All-Fun No-Chores Day” in 2005 when Joshua and Gabrielle were both of school age. One day near the end of summer break, Mommy has an entire day of fun with the kids. ALL FUN! NO CHORES! Josh and Brie make our agenda for the entire day. Today is our All-Fun No-Chores Day! Here are some of the things on our agenda for today:
1. Play the “Huggie Game” (This is a game we started when they were just toddlers. I run around chasing them. If I hug them, they are caught and I get to squeeze lots of love into them. They love this game, and so do I!)
2. Go the Park/Playground.
3. Lunch at Jule’s Organic Thin Crust Pizza, then ice cream at “Sweet Pea”.
4. Swimming.
5. Play Mancala.
This are just a few of the items on their “All Fun” agenda!
Now, the “No Chores” part is actually hard. Imagine, wives and moms, not doing one chore all day. Sounds delightful, I know. But it is hard not to straighten up, throw a load of laundry in or wash some dishes…because it is what we do routinely every day. My best strategy is to get OUT of the house! I want to honor my cherubs by not sneaking in some chores when they are not looking. The weather is supposed to be lovely today, so we will be outside and away from the house a lot.
As part of All-Fun Day, to honor my cherubs, I will be having an Internet Cyber Fast today. So, I’ll see you all tomorrow!
Thanks for stopping by! Please share a fun tradition you have!

Enjoy this special, special day. Such a blessing to your children. I think I may be a copycat and begin this with the girls next year. Smart to get out of dodge as to avoid temptation! Great to see you last night!
Love,
Heather (and Hannah, pretty much located up my nose!)

I hope you had a wonderful day!! I agree the no chores would be tough, but fun! But the next day would be double-chore day, so it truly is a loving sacrific to do that for your kids.
Yay!
