Praying For “She Speaks 2009”

July 24, 2009 | 7 Comments

“She speaks with wisdom, and
faithful instruction is on her tongue.”
Proverbs 31:26

One week from today (7/31/09), the She Speaks Conference hosted by Proverbs 31 Ministries in North Carolina will begin. Through God’s leading and provision, and with my husband’s enthusiastic “you must go” encouragement, I was blessed to attend this conference in 2007 and 2008. This year, I am not attending for two reasons:

1. One of my handsome hubby’s favorite Bible teachers, James MacDonald, is speaking at Camp of The Woods (where we go annually now) from 8/1-8/8 and that conflicts with the She Speaks dates; and

2. My son’s 9th birthday is one week from today, too! I don’t want to miss that!

It is my privilege to pray for She Speaks this year. “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” (Col. 4:2) I am excited to watch and see all that He will do! God has used Proverbs 31 Ministries to bring me closer to Him. I am humbled to be able to pray.

For the last few months, I have been journaling specific scriptures I come across while I read each day. These scriptures are my prayers for all the P31 gals and all the gals attending She Speaks. Here are a few of those scriptures. Word of God, speak. (Turn your speakers on for this beautiful worship song.)

“I will bow down toward Your holy temple and will praise Your name for Your love and Your faithfulness, for You have exalted above all things Your name and Your word.“ Psalm 138:2

“Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: “We had to speak the word of God to you first. Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles. For this is what the Lord has commanded us:” ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.'” When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and honored the word of the Lord; and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.” Acts 13:46-48

“I desire to do Your will, O my God; Your law is within my heart.” I proclaim righteousness in the great assembly; I do not seal my lips, as you know, O LORD. I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of Your faithfulness and salvation. I do not conceal Your love and Your truth from the great assembly.” Psalm 40:8-10

“O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare Your praise.” Psalm 51:15
“Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel...” Ephesians 6:19
“The Spirit of the LORD spoke through me; His word was on my tongue.” 2 Samuel 23:2
“The mouth of the righteous man utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks what is just. The law of his God is in his heart; his feet do not slip.” Psalm 37:30-31
“To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn” Isaiah 8:20
“Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable Your servants to speak Your word with great boldness.” Acts 4:29
Psalm 40:4-5
Psalm 68:11
Psalm 49:3
Psalm 145:21
Proverbs 10:11, 21
Proverbs 13:14
Proverbs 8:6-7a
Proverbs 12:14
Proverbs 12:17a
Proverbs 12:18b
Proverbs 13:14a
“My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the king; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.” Psalm 45:1

I am not going this year either but I am getting ready to speak several times at our Life & Style By God's Design women's conference.
I'm copying/pasting these scriptures to pray and meditate on. Thanks for posting them.

So many will miss you, but your pen will not stay silent, the Lord will help you speak regardless of the conference 🙂 And HE has given you a different role this year praying from a completely different vantage point…I am certain this will be a blessing!

We pray for all those seeking His guidance in using their gifts to glorify Him.

Great post, beautiful scriptures, thank you. (ahem ss2010, just sayin')

    Love,
    Heather
