“…if My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14
“When he takes the throne of his kingdom, he is to write for himself on a scroll a copy of this law, taken from that of the priests, who are Levites. It is to be with him, and he is to read it all the days of his life so that he may learn to revere the LORD his God and follow carefully all the words of this law and these decrees and not consider himself better than his brothers and turn from the law to the right or to the left.” Deut. 17:18-20
In my prayer journal, I keep a section of verses that I offer up as prayers to the Lord for the United States of America and for all the nations of the world He has created. On this National Day of Prayer (click here), let’s pray according to His will and His word. Here are a few scriptures I am praying for President Obama, his administration, all of the leaders of national and local governments, and all kings and rulers around the world. Please feel free to leave a comment and share how you are praying as well.
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” Psalm 33:12
“Make vows to the LORD your God and fulfill them; let all the neighboring lands bring gifts to the One to be feared. He breaks the spirit of rulers; He is feared by the kings of the earth.” Psalm 76:11-12
“All the nations You have made will come and worship before You, O Lord; they will bring glory to Your name. For You are great and do marvelous deeds; You alone are God.” Psalm 86:9-10
“May all the kings of the earth praise You, O LORD, when they hear the words of Your mouth. May they sing of the ways of the LORD, for the glory of the LORD is great.” Psalm 138:4-5
“The nations on every shore will worship Him, every one in its own land.” Zephaniah 2:11
“Let them know that You, whose name is the LORD— that You alone are the Most High over all the earth.” Psalm 83:18
“Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at His holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.” Psalm 99:9
“But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which God will bring about in his own time—God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.” 1 Timothy 6:11-16
“I will bow down toward Your holy temple and will praise Your name for Your love and Your faithfulness, for You have exalted above all things Your name and Your word.” Psalm 138:2
“Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.” Revelation 5:8

every day at work, we are blessed to take a break in the morning and come together for a psalm and prayer. Today however on top of that we all joined in on our lunch break to pray for our nation and join in the National Day of Prayer. We are blessed!
