He Ransoms Me Unharmed

May 27, 2009 | 9 Comments

“He ransoms me unharmed from the battle waged against me…God, who is enthroned forever will hear them…My companion attacks his friends…his speech is smooth as butter, yet war is in his heart; his words are more soothing than oil, yet they are drawn swords. Cast your cares on the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall.”
Psalm 55:18-22
These words ministered to me in such a deep, personal way recently as I read Psalm 55: “He ransoms me unharmed”. It was the perfect verse at just the right time for me. Those words of truth just popped off the page and into my heart bringing me such peace and assurance.
He. God. LORD.
He ransoms us unharmed. That just comforts my soul, and I wanted to share it with you in case you needed to hear that today. God, who is enthroned forever, ransoms you unharmed…cast your cares on Him and He will sustain you. He will never let the righteous fall.

Ransom –verb (used with object)
1. to redeem from captivity, bondage, detention, etc., by paying a demanded price.
2. to release or restore on receipt of a ransom.
3. to deliver or redeem from punishment for sin.
Unharmed – adjective
Definition: unhurt
Synonyms: free from danger, in one piece, intact, not hurt, out of danger, out of harm’s way, protected, safe, safe and sound, undamaged, uninjured, unscarred, unscathed, unscratched, untouched

He has redeemed us by paying the price for the punishment of our sin. We are free from danger, intact, out of harm’s way, protected, safe, undamaged, untouched. Oh, our Redeemer’s amazing love.

This passage from Psalm 55 reached deep into my heart. I just had to share it! Please share what has ministered to your heart lately!

Truly, truly Sharon, is there anyone who does not need to hear this verse??? Thank you for sharing the treasures that minister to you, because they minister to us as well! What a blessing this is to me today.

    He. God. Ransoms me UNHARMED!

Thank you sweet friend. Prayed for you last evening as Lucille brought the Word to so many through her ministry.

    Sharon,
This ministered to me today. He ransomed us unharmed because Jesus took the judgement of God on Himself for all of our sin. The harm we should have received ourselves, death, was poured out on Him. unharmed indeed!! Wow!

    Thanks for sharing this

“Undamaged.” I LOVE that Sharon. That word means so much to me because for so many years I felt damaged, ruined, never to be whole again. What a powerful word…”undamaged.”

Thank you for reaching deep into my heart today and speaking such a beautiful Truth!!

    Love you,

    Wendy

Just visiting from another blog, for I saw a beautiful comment you wrote and wanted to see who the person was behind the words.

Thank you. I have been having a tough time lately, wrestling with something I guess I’m just not ready to let go of…your post left me encouraged.

Thank you. I will visit again.

Just a few more days in the states, but enjoying ever warm shower, bubble bath, and splash in the pool. Can’t wait to get back home to the mission field, even if we’re in the middle of rainy season. It’s been nice to dry out a bit.

    Hugs sweet one,
    Sarah Dawn

Like Wendy above, the word, "undamaged" is powerful. WOW!

My heart is also responding to, "Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you…" Just last night at church a similar verse in 1 Peter spoke to my heart to "cast my cares". The Lord is bringing this point home to my heart again this morning. Thank you for being His voice of truth today.

    Blessings,
    Joy
