Above All Things

April 3, 2009 | 6 Comments

“…for You have exalted above all things
Your name and your word.”
Psalm 138:2

(“Above All” worship song by Michael W. Smith
playing on PlayList)

Dear Bloggityville Friends: I haven’t published a post in several days. Life is good, thank the Lord. All are well here. My precious Time Manager has not ushered me to Bloggityville much lately. Lots going on with family and friends. But I think of you all each day and pray for you. Truly.

Here is where my heart is lately. I have that “as deep cries out to deep” feeling in my soul. In His Word. Trusting His Truth. Desiring to live in His truth. Prayerfully guiding our children in His ways, His truth. “Sanctify them by the truth. Your Word is truth.” John 17:17 Looking to Him. If you can, turn your speakers up and listen to this beautiful song as Easter approaches.

I love Psalm 138:2 — Above all things are His name and His word. Amen.
These scriptures have all “popped out” at me lately. They all seem to tie together in a beautiful way.

“The word is very near you, it is in your mouth and in your hearts so you may obey it.” Deuteronomy 30:14

“Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to His voice, and hold fast to Him. For the Lord is your life…” Deuteronomy 30:19b-20

“Take to heart all the words…command your children to obey. They are not just idle words for you — they are your life.” Deuteronomy 32:46

“Joshua read all the words of the law…just as it is written in the Book of the Law. There was not a word of all that Moses had commanded that Joshua did not read to the whole assembly of Israel…” Joshua 8:35-36

“I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word.” Psalm 119:16

This was beautiful, Sharon! I. too, have really felt the call to stay in His Word more lately, and I truly want to–it’s just that life keeps interrupting! But, that’s OK. I have really been focused on the “mind of Christ” lately! Awesome scripture, but trying to be faithful to that…well, I’m working on it!!

    Hugs!

Thank you, thank you for showering me with God’s Word as I opened your blog today. What a blessing!!! You refreshed my soul. I have been spending much time in Ephesians lately and LOVE Paul’s prayers for us.

Today I pray Paul’s prayer for you, “I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will empower you with the inner strength through His Holy Spirit. Then Christ will make His home in your heart, Sharon, as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to fully understand. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”

    Blessings to you,

    Wendy

Glad all is well with you.

How’s your Bible in a yr going? I’ve lost my Bible again (part of the issue of always reading it, is that I move it from place to place with me, and I can’t find it. So yesterday I just read some Ephesians for a pick me up from the Old Testament. If you can ask God to reveal my Bible to me in your prayer life, that’d be super. I feel like I’ve looked everywhere, and it’s my favorite much loved Bible.

    Have a great day.
