Christmas Give-Away

December 5, 2008 | 63 Comments

“Your love has given me great joy and encouragement,
because you…have refreshed the hearts of the saints.”
Philemon 1:7

Welcome to all, and especially to those personally chauffeured here by “Mr. Linky“. What fun to participate in the “Cool Christmas Give-Away” with the Quintessential Blog Give-Away Hostess herself….Lysa TerKeurst! I hope you enjoy your visit to our blog. Grab a mug of your favorite hot beverage and linger a while! We pray you are refreshed during your visit here.

Joy In The Truth is giving away some cool nourishment for your soul — your choice of either:
1.) “Jesus Calling” – by Sarah Young; or
2.) “Pierced by the Word” – by John Piper.
These are two of my favorite devotional books, which are now offered through Proverbs 31 Ministries.

Also, you will receive some cool chocolate treats for your taste buds (just in time for Christmas!) from our great home state of PENNSYLVANIA, such as HERSHEY’S CHOCOLATE, PEANUT CHEWS, and TASTYKAKES.

For your opportunity to win, just simply leave a comment! Also, if you haven’t already had your quiet time with the Lord today, commit to spending ten minutes in His Word today. If you have spent time in the Word today already, let me know what verse(s) you read. Share the encouragement! Time sitting at His feet will never be taken away! (Luke 10:42)

It’s been a pleasure having you visit us here at Joy In The Truth! Stop by and visit again. I’ll be by to visit you as well! The winner will be announced on Monday, December 8th.

“…but only one thing is needed.
Mary has chosen what is better,
and it will not be taken away from her.”
Luke 10:42

    Hey Girl,
I was in Luke this morning. Luke 14:7-12. Not a long passage but for me this morning a good one.
It talks about humility. Letting God lift you up not puffing up yourself.
The first shall be last and the last shall be first kind of thing.

ooops! I’m the first one to comment! LOL

Thanks for the time to share.

Devotions and chocolate are a perfect combination. : ) Thank you for this fun.

Here is the verse I read today:

“Yet I am with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory.” – Psalm 73:23-24

Thank you for the encouragement to have a quiet time this morning- I was on the path of spending all morning entering these contests instead of spending time with the Lord first.

    Merry Christmas!

I am reading through Exodus each day, as I study the Word for BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) The Life of Moses.

Learning a lot about how Holy God is and His high standard for our lives because He loves us so much and wants the best for us.

Hey, girlfriend! I am away from my Bible at the moment, but I read about Jacob’s running away, falling asleep on a rock, having an incredible dream and waking up to say that “Surely the Presence of the Lord is in this place!” I know that it was Genesis!!! Is that close enough??? I am trying to remember that His Presence is with me even at school–the kids are in related arts at the moment!

Thanks for a wonderful give-away. If I win, I will share the book with a sweet friend for her Christmas present. I love those books!

    Enjoy your weekend!

Hi Sharon, I stopped by from Lysa's blog and just wanted to say you have a beautiful blog here. I would love to be entered in your contest and invite you to stop by and enter my giveaway also.

I will definitely spend some time since I feel the presence of the Holy Spirit right here.

I've just finished the New Testament minus Revelation. For some reason God has sent me to the beginning – Genesis – before I read Revelation. So for the last two mornings I have been reading about Adam, and the first family.

It blew me away to see God show mercy to Cain even after he killed Abel. The bible says God put a mark on Cain so no one who found him would kill him.(Genesis 4:15 & 16) Isn't that like God, showing mercy to save us even when we don't deserve it? I so love Him with all my heart.

    Blessings,
    Have a beautiful day
