“Go ahead, I am with you heart and soul.”
1 Samuel 14:7
Joshua and Gabrielle’s Aunt Anne (my sister, who happens to be way more fun than me!) recently taught them how to play the “Heart and Soul” duet on the piano. They have had so much fun playing it, practicing and inviting others to join in on the duet. It’s been so much fun for me to play this duet with them, and it brings back my childhood memories of playing this duet, too.
Moreover, it’s become a time of quiet heart prayers to the Lord for me. Each time I take a few minutes to play this duet with them, I pray for them “heart and soul”. I pray for their relationship with the Lord, their relationships with Jim and me, with each other as brother and sister, and their relationships with others.
I cherish this special time of playing a piano duet with Josh and Brie. I pray their hearts are always in perfect harmony with His and that they always follow His lead.
I pray for us as a family, that we are always woven together beautifully by His perfect love, protection and peace.
Here are some scriptures I pray
that they do with all their heart and soul.
What are some prayers you pray
for those you love?
That they always seek Him
They entered into a covenant to seek the LORD,
the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul.
2 Chronicles 15:12
Now devote your heart and soul
to seeking the LORD your God.
1 Chronicles 22:9
That they walk in His Ways,
Hold fast to Him and
Love Him and Serve Him
“But be very careful to keep the commandment
and the law that Moses the servant of the LORD
gave you: to love the LORD your God,
to walk in all His ways, to obey His commands,
to hold fast to Him and to serve Him
with all your heart and all your soul.”
Joshua 22:5
Jesus replied: ” ‘Love the Lord your God
with all your heart and with all your soul
and with all your mind.’
Matthew 22:37
That they love His Word
For the word of God is living and active.
Sharper than any double-edged sword,
it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit,
joints and marrow; it judges the
thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12

Heart & Soul–that is what these kids get a hold of isn't it????
Thank you so much for praying for my Jordan. He got through a major oral report yesterday without being made to "feel stupid". Apparantly this teachers focus was bringing another girl to tears. It is just so upsetting to me and yet my boy has asked me not to get involved–what's a mother to do??
Enjoy your little ones–it was so much easier when I had control 🙂
Who am I kidding–I have NEVER had control!
thanks again Sharon,
love,
Kim

Awww I was afraid my comment yesterday didn’t go through. I was having trouble with my computer.
I enjoyed reading about you time with Josh and Gabrielle. How beautiful to teach them the true meaning of our heart and souls – belonging to Jesus! What a legacy you are building with them.
Any more praying on adopting?
Love and blessings,
Jill

Great psot and so tender because I truly get the blessing of seeing this brother/sister duo together.
I agree with runner mom, your children are too too cute. They are most definitely a direct reflection of their awesome parents and the Great Big God who stirs their souls.
Love you!

Such a sweet post. I remember playing that duet with my son when he was a little guy. Now at 16 he's finishing up his final piano grade with the University of Toronto (here in Ontario, Canada) – how the time has flown. Special memories to cherish.
Love how you changed an ordinary moment into a precious time of prayer. So special.
Thanks for your kind words on my blog today as well.
Love & prayers,
Joy
