Verses That Pop Out!

October 2, 2008 | 4 Comments

Don’t you love when a verse just pops out at you? It reaches right into your heart very personally!

Recently, this verse really popped out at me! It became a prayer for me and my family. I have also been praying it, as part of her prayer team, for a sweet friend who is finishing writing another. I just love this verse!

“The Lord was with Samuel as he grew up,
and he let none of his words fall to the ground.”
1 Samuel 3:19

Lord, thank you for remaining with us as we mature and grow up. By your grace, let none of our words fall to the ground. Let them be reliable, worthy and useful for You.

What verse has popped out to you lately? Do tell!

    Sharon,

I don’t know if you are following the book study on Lelia Chealeys blog or not? The verse that popped out at me last week was:

    Psalm 51:6
What you’re after is truth from the inside out.

The author, Lisa Whittle quoted this from the Message Bible which I do not have BUT am planning to get a copy as a resource. Do you use the Message bible?

It spoke to me so clearly–I wanted to YELL “YES, THAT IS WHAT I WANT-TRUTH FROM THE INSIDE OUT!!”
This verse gave my heart a deep yearning for more truth in me so I can see more truth of HIM!

    have a blessed day!
    Kim

    Sharon,

There are so many verses speaking to me right now – but the one I would have to say is Hebrews 3:7-8

Please be very careful with the Message. It is NOT the literal word of God and is written by men not inspired by the power of the Holy Spirit. Very feel good message.

God does NOT promise us to feel good about anything. He calls to be faithful and walk in obedience. He promises He will supply our every need.

Not trying to start a debate either – sorry this is a major red flag in our home.

Love you and hope to see you at the Harvest tomorrow night!
    Jill

Thanks for the input about the Message bible. I definitely felt the same way about it when I compared verses. Many people are referencing it – even at Women of Faith Conference in Philly last month. I totally agree with you on the red flag thing. We do need to be vigilint on EVERYTHING don’t we?
