“Strength and honor are her clothing;
she shall rejoice in time to come.”
Proverbs 31:25
My mom and my daughter ~ June 2012
Your prayers for my mom to our great God have been ushering her and our family through this transitional season in my mom’s life. Her back surgery went exceptionally well and there seem to be no long-term side effects from anesthesia. We are so grateful.
After spending three nights in the hospital after surgery, she was moved to a physical rehabilitation center where she will spend a few weeks working to strengthen her back and legs. Her room is decorated with pictures, posters and fresh flowers so she feels as comfortable as possible.
My siblings and our families have the last several months endeavoring to care for our sweet mom the best care we can in her home. As she spends time in the hospital and the rehabilitation center, her heart’s desire it to be home again. She wants us to all be together in her home. And I keep saying to her:
“Home is where you are, Mom.”
Our deep love for her and her unwavering, unconditional love for us truly makes her heart and her presence our home.
Where she is, we are loved unconditionally.
Where she is, we are being prayed for daily.
Where she is, we are welcomed with a smile and a long embrace.
Where she is, there is faith in our God to move a mountain.
Where she is, there is hope in our Savior.
Where she is, there are sparkling blue eyes looking back at us with joy.
Where she is, there is our home.
We love you, Mom. Home is where you are.
