“Welcome him in the Lord
with great joy,
and honor men like him…”
Philippians 2:29
Jim arrived home this afternoon from his 10-day dream-come-true-trip-of-a-lifetime to Israel! We picked him up at Philadelphia International Airport and were well-equipped with welcome home signs and Philly Cheese Steaks! (They don’t mix meat and cheese in Israel, so this hometown favorite really hit the spot!)
We were so excited! Yes, I cried tears of joy and thankfulness! The children could barely contain themselves and had ear-to-ear smiles on their faces.
At home, we spent a few days decorating with hand-drawn posters, balloons, banners, letters and ribbons. Our foyer looks more like a party spot right now.
Jim had an “unbelievable” time in the Holy Land. It will take him weeks to share with us all that he wants us to know. And we have a lot of questions! He also took over 1,000 pictures and over 8 hours of video. What treasures they will be for all of us. We are thrilled that the Lord provided this opportunity for Jim to go to Israel, for all the Lord is doing in his heart through this journey and for the many friendships nourished there.
Thank you for your prayers! They were invaluable to us! We are humbled by all the love for us expressed through prayer. Thank you, dear family and friends, who extended very tangible love to me and the cherubs through phone calls, invitations for dinner, special dates with the kids and gracious friendship toward me.
The afterglow of our reunion will linger for many days, I am sure. Time to get the children all nestled and snug in their beds!
Welcome home, honey! We love you!
