For our cherubs’ morning devotions, I have slowly been going through Psalm 119 with them. I heart Psalm 119! My NIV Study Bible refers to it as “a devotional about God’s Word”. It makes wonderful sense to me, therefore, that it is the longest Psalm, having 176 verses. Each verse talks about the treasure of His word, His precepts.
One morning last week before the cherubs woke up for school, I was preparing for their little devotion time and reading Psalm 119. Verses 44 and 45 popped off the pages of my Bible that morning! I got so excited! Always obeying His Word, we can walk about in freedom! Not in arrogant freedom, but in humble, peaceful, secure freedom!
I was sharing this with my girlfriend, and she said she had just read the same passage in the Amplified Bible and loved it. Check this out:
“I will keep Your law continually, forever and ever [hearing, receiving, loving, and obeying it].

Soak this in, dear friend. Soak in His love and truth. Hear it. Receive it. Love it. Obey it.
Walk at liberty and at ease. Seek, inquire and desperately require His precepts.
Oh, He is our portion. I feel like I was just at the buffet!
